EU Legal Compliance for OpenCart adds important storefront legal-compliance tools to OpenCart 3.x. It connects legal information pages with product price notices, checkout confirmations, footer links, customer emails and order-level agreement records.
The extension helps merchants make important legal information more visible across product pages, listings, the cart, checkout, information pages, the footer and customer order emails.
Map native OpenCart Information pages to dedicated legal roles:
The extension reuses these mappings in the footer, checkout, product labels, legal information pages and order emails.
Display a dedicated legal information block in the storefront footer. Supported links include the legal notice, terms and conditions, revocation terms, privacy policy, shipping and payment information and the environmental notice.
A custom tax and shipping footer notice can also be displayed, for example: “All prices include VAT plus shipping costs.”
Add configurable legal labels close to product prices on product and listing pages:
This makes price, tax, shipping and delivery information more visible to customers.
Require customers to confirm selected legal terms during checkout:
The module integrates with OpenCart’s native checkout terms setting and avoids a duplicate Terms checkbox when OpenCart already uses the same Information page.
For downloadable or virtual products, display a separate withdrawal notice checkbox. Customers can confirm that delivery of digital content may begin before the withdrawal period expires and acknowledge that this may affect their withdrawal rights.
Store accepted legal confirmations with the order. Recorded data can include:
This gives the merchant an order-level record of what the customer accepted during checkout.
Append selected legal Information page content to customer order emails. Available content includes the legal notice, terms and conditions, revocation terms, privacy policy and shipping and payment information. A custom legal email footer can also be added.
Mapped legal Information pages can receive a print button, optional heading hiding and an optional alternative dispute resolution or consumer redress notice on the legal notice page.
Add custom legal text to the cart and a “My shopping cart” edit link to the checkout confirmation step, helping customers review their cart before placing an order.
Admin and catalog language files are included for English, German, French, Polish and Spanish. Additional languages can be added with matching OpenCart language files.

This extension does not provide legal advice and does not automatically make a shop legally compliant. The merchant remains responsible for correct legal texts, tax configuration, cookie and GDPR consent, invoice and VAT rules, country-specific legal requirements, product safety or GPSR information, withdrawal wording and prior-price rules for discounts.
